The community center's beloved Executive Director, Kim Leisey, has announced her retirement. Having dedicated herself wholeheartedly since July 2023, Leisey plans her departure in January 2026, leaving behind a legacy that countless individuals will remember fondly. p>
On September 17, CAMP Rehoboth's Board couldn't express enough gratitude towards Leisey's impactful leadership. She's been instrumental in steering a smooth shift by collaborating closely with both board members and incoming leaders. It's not just a farewell; it's a celebration! p>
With a Ph.D. in Human Development in her pocket, Leisey's career spans a rich tapestry, including significant roles at University Maryland Baltimore County. As Senior Associate Vice President, she made strides in student affairs and facilities management. Her journey at CAMP Rehoboth was a natural progression from such a notable career path. p>
Before stepping in as executive director, Leisey had deep ties with Rehoboth Beach, having lived in nearby Lewes since 2020 and visited since early '90s. Her local roots were a big factor in her appointment after David Mariner's departure, as he moved on launch Sussex Pride, another meaningful LGBTQ+ initiative. p>
Taking charge during COVID-19 wasn't easy, but Leisey's leadership proved indispensable. Under her guidance, CAMP Rehoboth not only weathered storms but expanded its offerings. Board President Leslie Ledogar lauded Leisey's skill in navigating challenges and setting a solid foundation future successes. p>
"Kim has been a rock, and her commitment has been priceless," said Ledogar. "Although we'll miss her, she's left us stronger than ever, ready support our community well future." p>
