Rutger published: Non-Binary Netflix Actor Found Safe After Frantic Search

Theo Germaine, a non-binary actor known for their roles on Netflix, has been located after a worrying incident left them “badly concussed.” The family had been searching frantically since Germaine went missing early Sunday morning.

The 32-year-old actor first gained prominence in 2019 with their performance in Netflix’s The Politician. They have subsequently appeared in 2024’s Spark and 2022’s They/Them. On the recent Sunday morning at around 2 am, Germaine went missing under concerning circumstances.

William Rusan, Germaine's partner, was the first to alert the community, sharing that Theo was missing while in a “disoriented” state. Rusan expressed urgency in his message: “They are disoriented and their phone is not charged. If you see them, DM me, call me… or their mother… immediately. Thank you and I apologise for the alarm. Concussions are scary.”

A few hours later, Rusan provided an update via Instagram, informing followers that Germaine had been found. They were “badly concussed, cold, and out of sorts but otherwise unharmed.” The message included a heartfelt thank you to those who helped, noting, “The family here cannot thank everyone enough for your help and well wishes.”

Community Support and Privacy

Rusan’s update also emphasized the importance of privacy during Germaine’s recovery, stating, “The community that showed up for them is incredible but privacy will help the healing.”

On Facebook, Rusan further assured friends and family that Germaine was home safe and receiving medical care. He noted, “Their capacity to work with screens will be temporarily diminished, so they may not be able to get back to everyone quickly.”

While the full details surrounding Germaine’s disappearance and condition are not yet clear, the relief in their safe return is palpable among loved ones and fans.

Acting Career and Personal Insight

Theo Germaine’s recent credits include a standout performance in the film They/Them, a thriller focusing on LGBTQ+ teenagers facing sinister circumstances at a conversion camp. They previously spoke about the personal challenges and significance of taking on such a role.

“Really dealing with these topics also felt kind of intimidating because of my personal history with the umbrella that is conversion tactics,” Germaine shared. Despite the intimidation, they felt it was a necessary project. “It kind of felt like the perfect storm of exactly what I needed to be working on.”

Germaine expressed enthusiasm about portraying a character whose gender identity aligns closely with their own. “I’ve not really gotten to play somebody yet who fits my real life profile quite as much,” they explained. “So I was like, I really want to play somebody who uses my [they/them] pronouns, that would be really awesome.”

Germaine’s dedication to authentic representation is an inspiring aspect of their career, resonating with many viewers who see reflections of their own experiences and identities.
