Kristine W: Capturing hearts at WorldPride with timeless tunes and LGBTQ advocacy

Becoming a true music icon isn't just about having a few hit songs - it's about creating timeless tracks, cultivating a style nobody can forget, and building a loyal fan base, especially within vibrant communities like LGBTQ. Kristine W checks all these boxes, which makes her a perfect headliner choice at WorldPride, one massive celebration, taking center stage in Washington, D.C.

Chat with Kristine W: Getting personal about WorldPride and her musical journey

I recently caught up with Kristine W, and she shared a bit about what we can expect from her WorldPride performance, along with her latest musical adventures and her deep-rooted ties with LGBTQ folks. Her hits - think "Feel What You Want," "One More Try," and "Land Of The Living" - have been more than just catchy tunes; they've been a beacon during tough times, like during all those challenges in HIV/AIDS back in '90s. For many, her music has offered a refuge and a touchstone.

Reliving a full-circle moment

"It's pretty surreal," Kristine W mused about taking on WorldPride. "I'm having a full-circle moment here. I remember performing 'Stronger' during that march on Washington fighting marriage rights, with nearly a million joining in." Her reflections paint a vivid picture, showing how things have evolved from that historic march all those years ago leading up until marriage equality gained ground in 2015. It really highlights how far society has come.

Exciting plans set up on WorldPride's stage

Looking ahead with enthusiasm, Kristine's thrilled about her WorldPride stage plans and let slip some exciting tidbits. "I'm bringing my Vegas dancers," she revealed with a grin. Known far and wide thanks thanks largely due smashing record-breaking shows over at Las Vegas Hilton, Kristine's roping in some local magic too by teaming up with singers from D.C. "We're including some local talent - it's going be an amazing show," she added, hardly containing her excitement.

Unleashing her new single, "Love Personified"

A major highlight everyone should look forward within upcoming performance features debuting fresh new single called “Love Personified,” slated drop on Friday during Memorial Day weekend. "It's an incredible song," she said, reflecting on what went behind creating it. This track keeps up tradition Kristine built crafting music resonating profound depths among fans just most like beloved hits before it.

Kristine teamed up with two legendary songwriters, Allan Rich and Jud Friedman, whose pens gave us Whitney Houston's unforgettable “Run To You.” "They're amazing," Kristine shared, acknowledging how their magic touch brought something special onto her latest musical piece.

A unique connection with LGBTQ community

Kristine's always recognized just how tightly-knit her bond with LGBTQ community really turned out being. “I didn't realize how big I was within gay community until drag queens began showing up at shows,” she'd laughed mentioned how they embraced whole-heartedly everything about music she offered. Despite various pressures exerted by industry or misconceptions swirling around, Kristine chose consistently back LGBTQ venues, calling that one among best decisions across career span.

“I've got lots wonderful LGBT friends - my trans sisters, and one dear old pal who's lesbian. We're all characters but love each other deeply,” Kristine revealed, joyously celebrating genuine affection shared through community ties.

Receiving honor from LGBTQ community

Kristine's journey boasts plenty standout moments including one where Lady Bunny, an iconic drag queen, honored her, dubbing Kristine honorary part LGBTQ family. “That was such special moment,” Kristine recalled fondly. “Being acknowledged by Lady Bunny went beyond expectations - it's something cherished deeply.”

Spreading message centered around love and celebration

As WorldPride unfolds ahead, Kristine hopes she can use music telling tales surrounding love, encouraging celebration amongst those attending. "I want everyone knowing they're loved immensely while also celebrating life's milestones," Kristine stated. "Yeah, there are challenges - always will be—but take time appreciating how far things have come alongside just how much love can both give away receive back."

Kristine W's music remains powerful source uplifting inspiration, offering comfort amid rough patches. For Kristine, connecting audiences represents beautiful blessing she wouldn't ever trade away anything else. As Kristine prepares stepping onto WorldPride stage soon enough, she continues embodying resilience along joyous nature sewn across LGBTQ community fabric, truly living up name "Love Personified."
