Rutger published: Confirmed Entries for the 2025 Eurovision Song Contest

This year, the much-anticipated Eurovision Song Contest will take place in the vibrant city of Basel, Switzerland. The excitement is palpable as music enthusiasts from across Europe and beyond gear up for one of the most colorful, inclusive, and competitive events in the music calendar. This follows Switzerland’s memorable victory in 2024 with the captivating performance of “The Code.”

The 2024 contest was particularly historic as it celebrated the first win by a non-binary artist, Nemo, who wowed audiences from Malmö, Sweden, with an unforgettable show. As Eurovision continues to champion diversity and artistic expression, 2025 is set to be another thrilling chapter in its storied history.

In Basel, anticipation builds as each of the 38 participating countries prepares to hold national qualifying rounds. These competitions will determine which songs and artists will represent their nations on the grand stage. Notably, Montenegro marks its enthusiastic return after a two-year hiatus, already announcing their representative, Nina Žižić, a seasoned performer who previously graced the Eurovision stage in 2013.

The grand event will unfold over three spectacular nights, with semi-finals scheduled for May 13 and 15, leading to a grand finale on May 17. These dates are circled on the calendars of Eurovision fans worldwide, who eagerly await the diverse array of performances. The draw, which will take place on January 28, will decide the allocation of countries in the semi-finals. The 'Big Five'—the United Kingdom, France, Germany, Spain, and Italy—along with the host nation Switzerland, enjoy automatic spots in the final.

Confirmed Artists and Songs

As of now, several countries have already confirmed their participating artists and songs, adding to the growing excitement.

Albania: The folk-tronica duo Shkodra Elektronike will bring their unique sound with "Zjerm," a song whose title translates to “noise.” Formed in 2019, the duo is known for blending traditional Albanian sounds with electronic music, promising a captivating performance.

Cyprus: Theo Evan has been selected as the representative, although the song title remains under wraps. Evan is recognized for his dynamic performances across pop, reggaeton, and electronic dance genres. The anticipation for his song announcement is building among fans.

The Czech Republic: Adonxs, the stage name of Slovak artist Adam Pavlovčin, will carry the Czech flag. A former lead singer of the London-based alternative band Pace, Adonxs stepped into the solo spotlight with his 2022 debut album "Age of Adonxs." His song choice is yet to be revealed, maintaining an air of mystery.

Montenegro: Nina Žižić will perform "Dobrodošil," a song translating to “welcome.” With over a decade of experience, Nina is no stranger to the Eurovision stage, having previously represented Montenegro in 2013. Her return is highly anticipated by Eurovision enthusiasts.

The Netherlands: Claude Kiambe, known simply as Claude, will represent the Netherlands. The Congolese-born Dutch singer-songwriter is set to charm audiences, although his song remains a closely guarded secret for now.

This year’s Eurovision promises to deliver a spectacular showcase of talent, creativity, and cultural diversity. As more countries finalize their entries, fans are encouraged to stay tuned for updates. This dynamic lineup of performers is sure to bring unforgettable moments to the Eurovision stage.
