A life lived in service and secrecy

Marshall Belmaine's story unfolds during a turbulent era marked by profound societal shifts. He left high school after enduring harsh anti-gay bullying and joined up with Marine Corps in 1965. His service led him through various locations, from Caribbean stints and Fort Meade, Maryland, before signing on with National Security Agency. By 1969, his military chapter closed with an honorable discharge.
