Rutger published: Zaya Wade Shares Joy in Gender-Affirming Journey: "I Feel Perfect on HRT"

Zaya Wade, daughter, and shining star in her own right, has opened up about how gender-affirming care has completely transformed her life. Since starting hormone replacement therapy (HRT), she's found deep happiness and fulfillment, living her truth as a transgender woman.

Finding strength in family support

Back in 2020, Dwyane Wade shared on The Ellen DeGeneres Show that Zaya came out as transgender. He talked about how brave Zaya was in embracing her identity, supported every step by her parents, Dwyane and Gabrielle Union. It goes without saying that their unwavering love has been vital in her journey.

Now 17, Zaya isn't just making waves in fashion; she's becoming a strong voice in LGBTQ+ advocacy. She co-founded "Translatable," a non-profit that champions trans rights. While juggling high school, she also faces anti-trans and anti-diversity legislation in America.

Overcoming hurdles and celebrating identity

In a chat with Seventeen Magazine, Zaya opened up about political hurdles, saying, "The previous administration's policies set me back. Standing tall was tough, but I knew I had a right and a need." Even with these challenges, Zaya proudly embraces her identity as a Black trans woman and pushes against narrow beauty norms.

She talks passionately about staying true, expressing a desire not just in fashion runways but in life, saying, "I wanted people see my cultural braids without hiding my transition, gender, or skin color." It sums up her ethos as a model: authenticity above all.

"Being on estrogen, I've never been happier," Zaya shared, highlighting how pivotal HRT has been. She's also found skincare important in this new chapter, boosting her confidence and self-esteem.

Powerful advocacy and community connections

Zaya Wade's public journey lights a path and offers hope. Her story underscores how vital gender-affirming care and family backing are. For those moved by her journey, there's support like Trans Lifeline, where trans or nonbinary peers are ready with guidance. The hotline's number—(877) 565-8860—is a lifeline itself during weekdays.

Zaya's story echoes resilience and empowerment in LGBTQ+ circles. Through her experiences, she not only fights bravely but also inspires others. Her advocacy nudges everyone towards authenticity and happiness, regardless what society throws their away.

Sparking change and looking ahead

As Zaya keeps growing and advocating, she proves how powerful love and acceptance are. Her story and drive challenge others in LGBTQ+ community—and beyond—to embrace who they are, no matter any fear or judgment.
