Rutger published: Upcoming Events for Trans Day of Visibility 2026

The Christopher Street Project is gearing up for an exciting lineup of events to celebrate the 2026 Trans Day of Visibility. With a series of activities set to engage and empower the community, this year promises to be memorable and impactful. Among the highlights is a significant rally to be held on the National Mall, alongside an inspiring "Empowerment Ball" at the Eaton Hotel.

Speakers and Highlights

Renowned figures from various fields are scheduled to address attendees, sharing their insights and experiences. Among the speakers are notable individuals such as New Hampshire state Representative Alice Wade and Precious Brady-Davis, Commissioner of the Metropolitan Water Reclamation District of Greater Chicago. The event will also feature Miss Peppermint, known for her performances on "RuPaul’s Drag Race", Lexington, Kentucky Councilwoman Emma Curtis, and the esteemed Rabbi Abby Stein.

Local activist and host Rayceen Pendarvis, Air Force Master Sergeant Logan Ireland, and a host of other leaders, advocates, and performers are also set to participate. These speakers will contribute to a series of plenaries, panel discussions, and meetings with members of Congress, all planned over a comprehensive three-day program.

Conference and Education

The conference programming kicks off on Thursday and Friday, featuring an educational forum and a Capitol Hill policy education day. While registration for the two-day conference has reached capacity, these sessions are poised to provide valuable information and networking opportunities for those in attendance.

Special Receptions and Gatherings

On Thursday, March 26, the community will gather for the "Trans Day of Visibility PAC Reception" from 7:30 to 9 p.m. at As You Are, located at 500 8th St., S.E. This special event will host esteemed guests such as Representative Dina Titus from Nevada and Representative Delia Ramirez from Illinois. Tickets for this event are available on the Christopher Street Project’s website, starting at $25.

Friday evening will feature the "Trans Day of Visibility Shabbat," hosted in collaboration with the National Council of Jewish Women. This spiritual gathering will take place from 7 to 8 p.m. at Sixth & I, located at 600 I St., N.W., and will be led by Rabbi Jenna Shaw and Rabbi Abby Stein.

The Empowerment Ball

Another key event not to be missed is the "Now You See Me: Trans Empowerment Social & Ball," scheduled for Friday, March 27, from 6 to 11 p.m. at the Eaton Hotel, 1201 K. St., N.W. This event, featuring a trans-themed drag ball, is a collaboration between the Marsha P. Johnson Institute and several other supporting organizations, including the D.C. Mayor’s Office of LGBTQ+ Affairs, the Capital Ballroom Council, the Center for Black Equity, Generation for Common Good, and Parenting is Political. The National Rally

A major highlight of the weekend is the National Transgender Day of Visibility Rally, scheduled for Saturday, March 28, at 11 a.m. on the National Mall. This rally will be a powerful gathering with speeches and performances designed to uplift and unite the community in visibility and pride. Following the rally, participants are encouraged to join the "No Kings" rally at Anacostia Park, adding to the spirit of solidarity and activism.

These events collectively offer a rich tapestry of experiences aimed at celebrating and advocating for transgender rights and visibility. The Christopher Street Project continues to be at the forefront of organizing meaningful and impactful events that foster community, education, and empowerment.
