Fans have been speculating, and now it’s confirmed: UNHhhh, hosted by drag superstars Katya and Trixie Mattel, has wrapped up its run. This marks an end that many had hoped wouldn’t come, but what a journey it’s been, filled with laughs and unforgettable chemistry.
Brought alive by World Of Wonder, UNHhhh took off as an internet sensation. These two stars from Drag Race Season 7 brought a unique and comedic vibe that was hard not see. Eight seasons long, each episode was a spontaneous, hilarious dive across countless topics, driven by Katya’s and Trixie's infectious dynamic.
Even after season eight finished in 2023 with a bang, fans were itching and hoping it wasn’t over. But Katya has spilled all on Eric Sedeno’s Wild Wild Web podcast: UNHhhh isn't making a comeback. It’s bittersweet, but now it's official.
Katya shared her deep love and appreciation, saying, “I love [the UNHhhh team] so much, but we’re not doing it anymore.” While improvisational magic powered this show, that same magic proved incredibly demanding.
Katya didn’t hold back about how hard it was producing a show with no script or compass. “It was all improv,” she said. “It’s thrilling, but pulling an episode outta thin air? That’s tough.” Not every idea hit its mark—an episode planned around ‘Lunch’ didn’t exactly wow—but when it clicked, it really was something special.
Though UNHhhh reached its finale, you can still catch Katya and Trixie's antics elsewhere. They’ll keep charming audiences on their podcast, The Bald and The Beautiful, not-to-mention their Netflix gig, I Who Like To Watch. They’ll keep bringing their trademark wit and partnership in fresh, new ways.
There was even a sliverof hope when World Of Wonder filed a copyright, hinting at a possible ninth season. But with producer Pete Williams’ leaving in September, those hopes seem dashed.
When Katya talks about UNHhhh’s highs and hurdles, it’s clear how important spontaneity and chemistry were. “It was a rollercoaster,” she reflected, recalling episodes that were pure gold.
As we say goodbye, it's with gratitude over UNHhhh’s 229 episodes brimming with unforgettable moments. This finale may be bittersweet, but Katya and Trixie's legacy carries on, and we can’t wait’for whatever brilliant new projects they'll surprise us with.
