On a pivotal Friday afternoon, nine passionate transgender advocates and their allies found themselves arrested on those iconic steps outside our U.S. Supreme Court. They were voicing their discontent over a recent controversial ruling in what has become a defining moment in America—the U.S. v. Skrmetti case.
The Supreme Court, with a 6-3 nod toward its conservative members, decided in favor that upholds Tennessee's contentious law outlawing gender-affirming care minors. What does this mean? It's a troubling signpost potentially prompting other states down similar roads. This decision sends shockwaves, deeply worrying advocates as it threatens transgender young people and their access essential healthcare.
Those who were arrested were just a small part larger group, more than 30 strong, proudly draped in pink, blue, white—the colors their cause. Standing firm outside, organizers boldly unfurled vast cloths in these hues as an undeniable statement strength and unity.

Eliel Cruz, also a GLM co-founder, voiced his dismay about ruling. As cisgender ally, Cruz expressed unwavering support trans community, rallying broader LGBTQ+ group rally resist.
