"I didn't particularly feel like I had a place in basketball, being an LGBTQ person. Coming into netball and just seeing the amazing community there was a massive influence on why I fell in love with the game," Forcadilla shared.

"A lot of the time, when you’re doing sport at a high level, you still have to suppress your sexuality. But my experience of being out as gay in an elite sport environment is really empowering," he said.
