The Yogscast, a popular gaming entertainment group, has once again demonstrated the power of the gaming community by raising over £1 million for charity as part of their annual Jingle Jam event. Among the many beneficiaries is an LGBTQ+ crisis helpline, showcasing the group's commitment to supporting diverse and inclusive causes.
Based in Bristol, The Yogscast is renowned for its engaging gaming content and livestreams. Each December, the group hosts the Jingle Jam fundraiser, a festive campaign that offers gamers the opportunity to donate to various non-profit organizations in return for an extensive bundle of PC games. This year, the event has surpassed a million-pound milestone, a significant achievement celebrated by both the team and the community.
On December 3rd, members of The Yogscast celebrated their fundraising success during a 24-hour livestream designed to promote and encourage donations to the Jingle Jam. In a heartfelt video shared on social media, co-founder Lewis Brindley expressed his gratitude, saying, "Amazing! Thank you, thank you so much. We did it!" His sentiments were echoed by fellow co-founder Simon Lane, who added, "Thank you!!"
The Yogscast took to Twitter to express their gratitude, stating, "That's £1,000,000 raised for charity by everyone fundraising for Jingle Jam! We're absolutely blown away – thank you so much for tuning in, donating, fundraising yourself, and making this an incredible Jingle Jam so far! We couldn't do it without you!"
Gamers who contribute a minimum of £35 to the fundraiser are rewarded with a collection of 15 video games, alongside additional incentives from companies such as Displate, Fanatical, and Noxcrew. This year's game roster includes exciting titles like Tower Unite, Mouthwashing, Tactical Breach Wizards, Core Keeper, Spiritfall, Gatekeeper, Rogue Waters, The Royal Writ, Warhammer: Chaos Gate Daemonhunters, and Train Sim World 6.
The Jingle Jam 2025 collection is available for a limited time, offering gamers an opportunity to indulge in new adventures while supporting a good cause. With a minimum donation of £35 ($46 USD), participants can enjoy the entire bundle of games and rewards.
This year's charitable contributions are directed to a variety of organizations, including The Trevor Project. This non-profit organization plays a pivotal role in supporting LGBTQ+ young people facing mental health crises. By supporting The Trevor Project through Jingle Jam, The Yogscast and its community are helping to provide essential resources and support to those in need.
Other beneficiaries of this year's fundraiser include War Child, an organization dedicated to helping young people affected by conflicts around the world, including regions like Palestine and Ukraine. The fundraiser also supports Make-A-Wish, the autism-focused non-profit Autistica, and Become, an organization that assists children in foster care.
Since its inception, the Jingle Jam fundraiser has consistently raised over £2 million each year, with record-breaking totals exceeding £3 million in 2017, 2021, and 2022. The current record was set in 2017, when over 148,853 contributors donated a combined £3,894,251 in exchange for more than 70 video games and extra rewards. During that year, proceeds also supported the International Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Trans, and Intersex Association (ILGA), among other non-profits.
In 2025, over £225,000 of the funds raised will be allocated to support The Trevor Project's campaigns and programs. This figure is expected to grow as donations continue to pour in, reflecting the immense generosity and dedication of the gaming community.
Upon announcing its partnership with The Yogscast, The Trevor Project expressed enthusiasm about being part of the annual gaming fundraiser. "We are thrilled to be involved in an event that not only brings joy to gamers but also saves lives by supporting crucial initiatives," a representative stated.
The Jingle Jam 2025 event is a testament to the positive impact that the gaming community can have on the world. It highlights the collective power of gamers to make a difference and support a wide range of causes, especially those that champion inclusivity and diversity.
As the fundraiser continues, participants and supporters are encouraged to share their own stories and experiences related to Jingle Jam. The Yogscast invites the community to join the conversation and express their thoughts with respect and consideration for others.
