The Sports Equality Foundation is committed to shining a light on the contributions of LGBTQ athletes, coaches, and advocates who have broken new ground in sports. As board chair Robert Goman puts it, this project is about celebrating “the groundbreaking achievements of LGBTQ athletes, coaches, and advocates who have paved the way for inclusion in sports.” The Foundation hopes that by honoring these trailblazers, future generations will be inspired to push boundaries and achieve greatness.
This effort is particularly significant in today’s climate, where anti-trans sentiments are being voiced in some circles. The upcoming event at Park MGM in Las Vegas on August 10 marks a new beginning for the Hall of Fame.
