In Scotland, a significant issue has surfaced within schools: concerns about transgender students' well-being, especially when it comes down their use facilities like restrooms. It turns out that many transgender students are choosing not eat or drink much during school hours. Why? They're trying their best stay clear from using school bathrooms, fearing that they might be outed or find themselves in uncomfortable situations.
The Educational Institute Of Scotland (EIS), which speaks up on behalf most Scottish teachers, has raised this alarm. On October 1st, they openly addressed new guidelines from Scottish government designed support transgender students. While EIS sees this recent move valuable, they're not shy expressing some apprehension, believing these rules don't quite cover everything needed protect rights transgender and non-binary students.

The Scottish government rolled out fresh guidance on September 29th stating that schools must offer separate facilities meant boys and girls based on "biological sex," defined as "Sex recorded at birth."
