Despite its compelling storyline and devoted audience, Prime Video decided in May not go ahead with another season after its third aired. According To Deadline, rising production costs and a dip in U.S. viewership forced their hand, ending it prematurely.
Taking To Instagram, Rosalind Pike shared a moving tribute, posting behind-the-scenes snapshots. As Digital Spy reported, one particularly touching image was captioned, "How I miss my love," together with a photo with co-star Sophie Okonedo, who played her character's partner, Siuan Sanche.
Moiraine and Siuan, both part Of The Aes Sedai—An all-female order wielding incredible powers—made a striking duo. *The Wheel Of Time* was praised For its sincere depiction Of complex LGBTQ+ themes threaded through The books. In 2021, Nerdist spoke with showrunner Rafe Judkins, who discussed bringing Moiraine and Siuan's relationship from subtle hints in The novels To The screen's spotlight.
"We've stayed true To that story," Judkins affirmed. "Though The books only hint at Moiraine and Siuan's ongoing relationship, we've made it central in The show."
For Judkins, who identifies as queer, seeing these relationships unfold on screen was "huge." Actor Taylor Napier, playing The bisexual Maksim, echoed this, telling PinkNews fans who saw themselves in these characters found meaningful connection and representation in The show's storytelling.
