The UK's Eurovision entry, Remember Monday, recently shared their thoughts on finishing 19th in this year's competition. The result caught many off guard, especially when it came down from their initial jury success.
During that grand final on May 17, this country-pop trio—Lauren Byrne, Holly-Anne Hull, and Charlotte Steele—impressed with their upbeat tune, "What The Hell Just Happened?" The jury awarded them a solid 88 points, landing them in a promising top ten spot at first.
If only it ended there. Despite their jury success, Remember Monday didn't earn a single point from public voting. This unexpected turn dropped them down, leaving them just behind last year's UK act, Olly Alexander.
But, true pros that they are, Remember Monday handled it all with grace and humor on stage. They faced this hurdle head-on with positivity, emphasizing their friendship throughout.
In a touching message, they expressed heartfelt thanks, saying, "WOW - what a ride! Three best mates took on one helluva music stage, snagged a Top 10 Jury score, amazing streaming figures, and memories that'll last forever."
For them, performing at Eurovision was one surreal and emotional moment after another. They couldn't thank their fans, team, and everyone who vibed with their music enough.
The trio assured fans they're just getting started. They're in full swing with new music and planning a big UK and Ireland tour, not forgetting their stops at festivals along with it.
With enthusiasm, they added, "We're overwhelmed with gratitude—for this platform, media love, and every new fan who joined us on this wild ride. Eurovision? Been there, done that. Let‘s move!"
On another note, Austria's JJ celebrated a big win with his electrifying "Wasted Love," marking a historic victory streak with a third queer artist taking top honors, following Switzerland's non-binary Nemo and Sweden's Loreen.
JJ led with 258 jury points, closely followed by Switzerland with 214. Israel's Yuval Raphael briefly snatched lead in public votes, racking up 297 points, totaling 357.
In a nail-biting finish, JJ received an extra 178 points from fans, bringing his total up, and securing his win at 436 points. This means Eurovision 2026 will party on in Austria!
