Mark your calendars from Saturday, August 23rd through Monday, August 25th, and prepare yourself (and your popcorn) as a brilliant mix awaits.

Diving deep: Celebrating queer stories

Since it opened its doors in March, The Arzner has become a shining beacon in our community, championing LGBTQ+ stories and voices. This weekend's festival isn't just a series, it feels like a celebration—a joyful blend where cinema meets community. Piers Greenlees, co-founder and programmer at The Arzner, shared his excitement: “We're bringing a community event alive, celebrating queer storytelling with a fresh, outdoorsy vibe. Accessibility and inclusivity are key, and this festival marks a new beginning!” Anyone else as excited as I am?

What awaits you at Cinema in The Square

Over three invigorating days, movie buffs will be treated with 12 films, four screenings each day, all starting at midday. We've got something in store from little ones with family-friendly matinées, and in-the-evenings gems just right adults. And imagine this: all films showcased on a massive 15-square-meter LED screen. Saturday kicks off at 1:30 PM with animated fun in Shrek 2, moving on at 3:30 PM with feel-good vibes from Kinky Boots. Just wait, because at 5:30 PM, romance unfolds with Call Me By Your Name, and night caps at 8:00 PM with visual wonder, Everything Everywhere All At Once.

Sunday sweeps us away starting with musical magic in Encanto at 1:30 PM. Next, dress up a little at 3:30 PM with The Devil Wears Prada. At 5:30 PM, experience fresh perspectives in The Color Purple, and end your day grooving along with Cabaret at 8:00 PM.
