Rutger published: Missing Non-Binary Actor Theo Germaine Found After Family's Urgent Search

The non-binary actor Theo Germaine, known for their breakout role in Netflix’s "The Politician," has been located after a concerning episode that had their family anxiously searching.

Germaine, 32, who gained prominence with their performance in "The Politician" in 2019 and is also recognized for their roles in the upcoming "Spark" (2024) and "They/Them" (2022), went missing in the early hours of Sunday, at approximately 2 am.

Their partner, William Rusan, sounded the alarm about their disappearance, noting that Germaine was "disoriented" and their phone was not charged. Rusan shared: "They are disoriented and their phone is not charged. If you see them, please contact me or their mother as soon as possible. We apologize for the alarm. Concussions can be quite frightening."

Community Support and Updates

In an Instagram update posted around six hours later, Rusan informed followers that Germaine had been found. They were "badly concussed, cold, and out of sorts but thankfully unharmed," Rusan wrote, expressing immense gratitude for the support and well-wishes from the community.

"The support from the community has been incredible, but we ask for privacy to aid in the healing process," concluded Rusan, appreciating the collective effort that helped bring Germaine home safely.

Rusan also updated friends and family on Facebook, reassuring them that Germaine was now at home and under medical supervision. They mentioned that due to the concussion, Germaine’s "ability to engage with screens will be limited for some time, so they may not respond to everyone immediately."

Unanswered Questions Remain

The full details surrounding Germaine's disappearance are still unclear at this time, and the family has requested privacy as they focus on recovery.

Germaine's work in film has often intersected with their personal experiences. In a previous interview, they discussed their role in "They/Them," a horror film produced by Blumhouse. The plot centers on a group of LGBTQ+ teens at a conversion camp run by the unsettling Owen Whistler, played by Kevin Bacon.

Germaine expressed that working on the film was "intimidating" due to their own experiences with conversion tactics. "It kind of felt like the perfect storm of exactly what I needed to be working on," they said, acknowledging the challenging nature of the subject matter.

The actor also shared their excitement about portraying a character with a gender identity that aligns closely with their own. "I’ve not really gotten to play somebody yet who fits my real life profile quite as much," Germaine noted. "I really want to play somebody who uses my [they/them] pronouns. That would be really awesome."

As Germaine focuses on recovery, their family and friends continue to extend their support and care, ensuring a safe and nurturing environment for healing. The outpouring of support from fans and the community serves as a reminder of the strong bonds and solidarity within the LGBTQ+ community.

We invite you to share your thoughts and support for Theo Germaine and their family. Please keep the conversation respectful and supportive.
