Mighty Hoopla 2025 to Proceed as Planned Despite Legal Challenge

Exciting news for festival-goers—the much-loved Mighty Hoopla festival in London is confirmed to take place as scheduled at the end of this month. The event's continuation follows a recent legal challenge and a subsequent High Court ruling in favor of the festival organizers.

Taking place over the weekend of Saturday, May 31, and Sunday, June 1, 2025, Mighty Hoopla has lined up a stellar cast of performers that include international stars like Kesha, Ciara, Loreen, and Adore Delano. In addition, UK music icon Jade will be gracing the MainStage on Saturday, adding to the vibrant mix of talent.

On Monday, May 19, confirmation of the festival's go-ahead was announced by Brockwell Live, the event organizers, and was further affirmed by the Mighty Hoopla team.

The challenge against the festival came from local resident Rebekah Shaman, who voiced concerns about Brockwell Park's use for multiple festivals. Brockwell Park, the venue for the Mighty Hoopla since 2018, is no stranger to hosting large events, with the Wide Awake festival set to kick off the season on Friday, May 23.

In a statement, the Mighty Hoopla organizers reassured attendees, "We will be going ahead as planned on Saturday, May 31, and Sunday, June 1, 2025." They emphasized their dedication to "creating a safe and inclusive environment for all," and expressed their commitment to working with Brockwell Live to maintain the park's condition to the highest standard, both for the 2025 event and future years.

"We look forward to seeing you all next week for a weekend like no other," they concluded, signing off with a heartfelt "MH x."

Brockwell Live echoed these sentiments, highlighting their responsibility as caretakers of Brockwell Park. "We take our stewardship of Brockwell Park seriously," they stated. "As we prepare to deliver these much-loved, culturally significant events, we remain fully committed to its care, upkeep, and long-term wellbeing."

They further added that with setup nearly complete, they eagerly anticipate opening the gates and welcoming festival-goers later this week.

The legal uncertainties stirred some anxiety among fans of Mighty Hoopla, with fears that the festival might face cancellation. However, with the court's decision and the organizers' reassurance, attendees can now look forward to enjoying a colorful and inclusive celebration.

Mighty Hoopla has gained a reputation over the years as a queer-friendly festival that offers a welcoming space for everyone. Its lineup reflects a commitment to diversity and inclusion, drawing artists and audiences from all walks of life. The festival not only provides a vibrant platform for musical performances but also fosters a sense of community and belonging among its attendees.

This year's headliners, Kesha and Ciara, bring their own brand of pop and R&B to the stage, promising performances filled with energy and charisma. Kesha, known for her eclectic style and empowering anthems, is sure to be a crowd favorite, while Ciara's smooth vocals and dynamic dance routines will captivate audiences.

Loreen, with her powerhouse vocals, and drag performer Adore Delano, known for her unique blend of humor and talent, will also be among the highlights, adding to the festival's diverse offerings.

Fans of the festival are encouraged to share their thoughts and experiences in the comments section, helping to foster a respectful and engaging community dialogue. As festival time approaches, excitement among attendees and performers alike is palpable, underscoring Mighty Hoopla's place as a cherished event on the UK's festival calendar.

With the countdown to the weekend underway, Mighty Hoopla 2025 is set to deliver an unforgettable experience filled with music, joy, and unity—a true celebration of the LGBTQ+ community and its allies. So pack your festival gear, gather your friends, and get ready for a weekend of revelry in the heart of London.
