Mara Wilson, a beloved actress best known for her iconic role in the 1996 classic film Matilda, has openly criticized former President Donald Trump’s recent claims regarding his purported support for girls by barring transgender girls from school sports.
In a powerful statement, Wilson addressed Trump’s recent actions, highlighting a stark contradiction in his past behavior and current policies. Wilson wrote, "I know pointing out hypocrisy doesn’t matter anymore, but if there’s one person I wouldn’t want judging who enters locker rooms, it's the man who openly boasted about entering dressing rooms of underage girls."
This statement refers to Trump’s infamous 2005 comments made during an appearance on Howard Stern’s radio show, where he bragged about going backstage at the Miss USA pageants. At the time, he owned the pageant and admitted to inspecting the contestants as they changed, an act corroborated by witnesses like Tasha Dixon, Miss Arizona 2001. Dixon recounted Trump frequently coming into dressing rooms unannounced, leaving her and other contestants vulnerable and uncomfortable.
