The Friends of Dorothy Cafe is excited to announce the first event of our storytelling series titled "Living History: How We Survived," which promises to be an enlightening and inspirational evening. Join us on Wednesday, March 25 at 7:30 p.m. at the welcoming Spark Social House for an engaging panel discussion that you won't want to miss.
This unique event will be under the experienced guidance of Abby Stuckrath, the dynamic host of the popular "Queering the District" podcast. Abby will be leading a panel of distinguished speakers who have been at the forefront of LGBTQ+ advocacy and community-building efforts. We are honored to have Earline Budd join us—a powerhouse advocate for trans rights who has been tirelessly fighting for equality for decades. Joining Earline is TJ Flavell from Go Gay DC, a renowned figure in the local LGBTQ+ scene known for his vibrant activism and community engagement.
We are also thrilled to welcome David Bissette, a committed board member of the DC LGBTQ+ Center, who brings a wealth of knowledge and experience in fostering inclusive communities. Completing our panel is the inspirational Alexa Rodriguez, founder and executive director of Trans-Latinx DMV, an organization dedicated to supporting the trans Latinx community with vital resources and advocacy.
