Rutger published: Jennifer Lopez, Troye Sivan, and RuPaul to Headline Exciting WorldPride Music Festival

The anticipation for the WorldPride Music Festival just reached new heights as organizers have officially announced that superstar Jennifer Lopez, beloved gay pop artist Troye Sivan, and iconic drag performer and television sensation RuPaul will headline this spectacular event. The festival is set to take place at the RFK Festival Grounds located at 2400 East Capitol St., N.E., in Washington, D.C., over the weekend of June 6-7.

This two-day extravaganza promises to be a monumental celebration of music and diversity, bringing together a wide array of musical genres and performances across three stages. Attendees can expect an eclectic mix of pop, house, electronic dance music (EDM), techno, country, R&B, and more, ensuring that there is something for everyone to enjoy.

A Star-Studded Lineup

The festival’s lineup features an impressive array of talent beyond the headliners. LGBTQ fan favorites such as Kim Petras, Rita Ora, Betty Who, and Marina will grace the stage with their dynamic performances. For those who revel in house and electronic music, artists like Zedd, Grimes, Purple Disco Machine, and Sofi Tukker are set to deliver electrifying sets. Pop enthusiasts can look forward to seeing Tinashe, Raye, and Grimes, while socialite Paris Hilton is also slated to make a special appearance.

Additional artists adding their unique sounds to the festival include Aluna, Anabel Englund, Anne Louise, Coco & Breezy, Crush Club, Dombresky presents Disco Dom, Galantis, Hayla, Kaleena Zanders, Karsten Sollors, Leland + Friends, LP Giobbi, Matt Suave, Patrick Mason, Sasha Colby, Slayyyter, Spencer Brown, Trisha Paytas, and Ty Sunderland. This diverse lineup ensures that attendees will enjoy a rich tapestry of musical experiences throughout the weekend.

A Collaborative Effort

The WorldPride Music Festival is the result of a collaboration between Capital Pride, Dreamland’s producer Jake Resnicow, and event promoter Club Glow. Jake Resnicow, known for his role as a key figure in the success of WorldPride in New York, serves as the executive producer for this monumental event. Club Glow, which has a history of producing acclaimed music festivals in the region, is also organizing another festival, Project Glow, which will take place at the RFK grounds the weekend before WorldPride.

Resnicow expressed his excitement for the event, stating, “WorldPride Music Festival is a moment the world will remember. With legendary artists and our global community coming together, we’re creating an electrifying celebration that unites, uplifts, and amplifies LGBTQ+ voices like never before.”

More Than Just a Music Festival

In addition to its stellar musical lineup, the WorldPride Music Festival will offer attendees a variety of art installations and immersive experiences that celebrate the spectrum of LGBTQ culture. The festival grounds will feature specialty cocktail lounges, a variety of food and drink options, and unique giveaways. A VIP section is available for those seeking an elevated festival experience, with proceeds from the event benefiting the nonprofit Capital Pride Alliance and other local LGBTQ community organizations.

Resnicow emphasized the significance of hosting the festival in Washington, D.C., particularly given the current political climate and the wave of anti-LGBTQ policies. “Hosting this festival in our nation’s capital makes it even more powerful — it’s not just a party, it’s a global movement,” he added.

The festival is poised not only to deliver an unforgettable experience but also to make a lasting impact on the community. By supporting local organizations, the event aims to extend its reach beyond the two days of celebration, reinforcing the importance of unity and visibility for the LGBTQ community.

The WorldPride Music Festival also marks the 50th anniversary of Pride in the capital, underlining its significance as both a cultural and historical milestone for the LGBTQ community and its allies.

Tickets for the festival are now available, with general admission, GA+, and VIP options starting at $209. Don’t miss your chance to be part of this historic celebration of pride and music in the heart of the nation.
