Authorities have apprehended two individuals in connection with the unfortunate demise of Jordan James Parke, widely recognized from the show Botched and dubbed the ‘Lip King’ for his extensive cosmetic surgery endeavors.
Parke, who tragically passed away last Wednesday, February 18, at the age of 34, was discovered lifeless at the Lincoln Plaza hotel in Canary Wharf, London. The Metropolitan Police disclosed on February 23 that a 43-year-old man and a 52-year-old woman were arrested on manslaughter charges on February 20. Both suspects have been released on bail pending further investigation.
The police reported receiving a call about an unconscious man at the hotel, where Parke was pronounced dead. "His death is currently being treated as unexplained, and an investigation to establish the full circumstances is ongoing," stated the police. They are exploring the possibility that Parke may have been undergoing a cosmetic procedure shortly before his death, although this remains an initial line of inquiry.
The authorities are awaiting the results of a post-mortem examination to shed light on the cause of death.
Parke first gained prominence in 2014 due to his numerous cosmetic surgeries before making his debut on the American reality series Botched in 2015. During his appearance on the show, he sought help for his botched lip fillers. In 2019, he returned to the show for further assistance.
In the UK, Parke also made several television appearances discussing his experiences with plastic surgery. One notable appearance was in 2016 on ITV's This Morning, where he revealed his £130,000 expenditure on procedures in a quest to emulate the look of Kim Kardashian. This segment was provocatively titled ‘My Obsession With Kim Kardashian Could Kill Me’ and detailed his numerous procedures such as tattooed eyebrows, lip fillers, nose jobs, chin implants, neck liposuction, cheek fillers, jawline fillers, and botox.
Following Parke’s death, his sister Shernelle took to social media to express the family's heartache. "We as a family are numb, shocked and heartbroken," she wrote. "There will be some unkind messages that will be posted regarding this heartbreaking news, but please, if you knew Jordan, you will know that none of what will be posted is true and please keep him in your heart!"
Shernelle continued, "Jordan, I have no words to explain the sadness and heartbreak that we are feeling; you were our best friend, our whole world, our everything! We love you more than anything in the world!"
In 2024, Parke had faced legal troubles himself. He was arrested on suspicion of manslaughter after Alice Webb, a mother of five, died hours after undergoing a non-surgical, liquid Brazilian butt lift (BBL) procedure administered by Parke. This procedure, involving dermal filler injections to enhance the buttocks, was reportedly the first of its kind in the UK to result in such a tragedy.
Parke, who was released on bail and scheduled to return in March, had not been formally charged with any offense related to Webb's death.
As the investigation into Jordan James Parke’s death continues, the LGBTQ+ community and his fans remember him not only for his television appearances and cosmetic journey but also for the joy and vibrancy he brought into their lives.
