Peace shared, "Her breast cancer was a smaller, aggressive lump, so she had a lumpectomy and then radiotherapy." Her own situation, however, was more severe. Peace faced a larger tumor, leading her through a mastectomy, chemotherapy, and now, radiotherapy.

In true Heather Peace style, she managed a bit humor amidst it all: "Of course, then I come along with my 12 cm lump, absolutely ginormous, and mastectomy, chemotherapy, just about go inos radiotherapy. She's like ‘Even that you have do bigger'. It's like ‘Hold my beer'." Despite everything, they keep a sense humor and perspective.

Juggling emotions and work

Peace admitted feeling completely overwhelmed just hours after her diagnosis. "I felt like a dead woman walking," she shared, emphasizing just how fast everything moved and how serious her condition was according her doctors.

Yet, despite it all, Peace didn't let her diagnosis stop her from working. She dove headfirst back her role on *EastEnders*, filming important scenes focused on her character Eve's big storyline with Suki Panesar (played by Balvinder Sopal). Keeping up with her professional duties gave her a kind anchor during such uncertain times.

Looking back life

As she awaited her CT scan results, Peace took a moment reflect on her life and career, feeling grateful all she's achieved. "I looked at everything I'd done, everybody in my life - my kids, my wife, equal marriage coming in, crazy amounts stuff - and I felt my goodness, I've really packed it in and it's ok," she said, filled with gratitude.
