Rutger published: Ginger Minj Reflects on All Stars 10 Victory and the Possibility of a Double Crowning

In an exclusive chat, Ginger Minj, fresh off her win on RuPaul's Drag Race All Stars 10, opens up about snaggin' that crown and all those unexpected feelings that came rushing in. After a season packed with tough battles and a first-ever tournament-style showdown, Ginger snagged her spot in that Hall o' Fame, standing tall alongside past All Stars champs.

The journey towards triumph

Ever since Ginger Minj first sashayed her stuff on Drag Race, she's been a crowd favorite, consistently showing off her flair and magnetic personality. This season was no different, and while her journey was truly something else, it was that finale that really caught everyone off guard.

Bracing For The Unexpected

In a chat with The Hollywood Reporter that really hit home, Ginger confessed she was bracing herself not exactly as she expected. "I was totally ready, expecting another letdown," she admitted. The competition was fierce, with Jorgeous bringing a fresh style and vibe that wowed fans and judges alike.

"Jorgeous? She's a powerhouse, and I'm absolutely a huge fan," Ginger continued. "When Kylie took All Stars 6, I was thrilled, yet a bit heartbroken too. You can feel both, and that's okay."

The thrill Of Sharing The Crown

The idea that there might be a double crowning bounced around in Ginger's mind—a nod familiar within Drag Race circles, ever since All Stars 4 saw both Trinity and Monét X Change share that spotlight. Ginger thought it could really showcase just how rich and varied drag can be.

"For me, it would've been a dream come true," Ginger said. "Jorgeous and I? We're total opposites, yet together we capture all that's beautiful about drag." Sharing with Jorgeous would've highlighted that bond and mutual admiration among queens.

When Ginger was announced as winner, she immediately reached out, comforting Jorgeous. It was an emotional whirlwind, having come so close twice before only not making it. "After getting so close those times and missing it, I was ready mentally that it wouldn't be mine," she shared.

Riding An Emotional Wave

Winning brought a rush like no other, but Ginger found herself riding unexpected waves. "When it actually happened, emotions flooded in that I was just not ready. Joy, sadness, everything seemed piled in at once," she explained.

Her concern was genuine as she looked at Jorgeous during that finale. "I think that's why my gut reaction was reaching out, like, 'Jorgeous, you holding up?' I knew I wasn't, despite winning. I care deeply about her, but I'm beaming with joy, and it all felt like a huge tangle," she expressed.

Even with those mixed emotions, Ginger feels proud and deeply thankful, both toward her fellow queens and all those cheering her on. "It was a shock but a thrill," she concluded.
