François Arnaud's Social Media Drama and Resilience

In recent days, fans of the hit show "Heated Rivalry" experienced a mix of concern and relief when one of its stars, François Arnaud, engaged in a puzzling social media activity. The 40-year-old Canadian actor, known for his role in the series, unfollowed his cast members and the show's creator on Instagram, only to re-follow them shortly after.

On a seemingly regular Friday, Arnaud returned to Instagram with a bold message directed at his detractors. He posted a series of images featuring his co-star Hudson Williams, who playfully flipped off the camera. In a show of solidarity, Arnaud also participated, though both actors' middle fingers were humorously obscured with heart emojis. "Learning from the very best," Arnaud captioned the post, adding a crown emoji and tagging his co-star.

Arnaud's actions came on the heels of a wave of online harassment and hate he had been receiving from some factions of the show's fanbase. Despite the negativity, Arnaud has consistently supported "Heated Rivalry" and expressed admiration for his fellow actors' performances.

His decision to drastically reduce his Instagram following — dropping from 1000 to just 193 accounts — was viewed as a protective measure against the online vitriol. As part of this "purge," Arnaud unfollowed his colleagues and the show's creator, Jacob Tierney, which initially sent shockwaves through the fan community.

One fan noted on a social media platform: "François Arnaud has unfollowed everyone involved with Heated Rivalry on Instagram including the whole cast and creator Jacob Tierney. Nasty comments and online harassment seem to have caused François to limit his online presence." However, as of now, Arnaud has resumed following his co-stars, including Williams, Connor Storrie, and Robbie GK, and has also re-followed Tierney.

The actor's commitment to the show "Heated Rivalry" has been evident from the start. Arnaud was so eager to secure a role on the series that he switched management teams when his former representatives refused to consider the scripts. This determination paid off when he landed the role of Scott Hunter, a character who is central to one of the show's most emotional storylines.

In the series, Scott's romance with Kip, portrayed by Robbie GK, is a highlight of the third episode. Their relationship is a compelling narrative, culminating in a touching scene where Scott publicly embraces his identity by kissing Kip. This moment is not only significant for the characters but also resonates with many viewers.

"Heated Rivalry" primarily follows the journey of hockey players Ilya Rozanov, played by Connor Storrie, and Shane Hollander, portrayed by Hudson Williams, as they explore a passionate enemies-to-lovers storyline. Arnaud has expressed his hopes for the next season, sharing his anticipation of exploring Scott and Kip's relationship further. "I’m hoping to see what reality has in store for them," Arnaud said in a recent interview. "A relationship between someone who’s uber-famous, has a giant platform, and someone who didn’t choose that for themselves, there are still challenges that come with that."

François Arnaud's career began with his film debut in Xavier Dolan’s 2009 "I Killed My Mother," a film that quickly became a favorite on Tumblr. He has since made a name for himself with notable roles in "The Borgias," "Blindspot," and "Schitt's Creek," where he played Sebastien Raine, the ex-boyfriend of Dan Levy's character, David.

In 2020, Arnaud publicly came out as bisexual via Instagram, sharing a heartfelt message about stigma, privilege, and the erasure often faced by bisexual individuals. His openness and courage have inspired many, and he continues to be a prominent advocate for the LGBTQ+ community.

"Heated Rivalry" is currently available for streaming, allowing viewers to dive into its captivating stories and complex characters. As the series unfolds, fans can look forward to seeing how François Arnaud continues to navigate both his on-screen and real-life challenges with resilience and grace.
