Rutger published: Elton John AIDS Foundation Partners with UK's LGBTQ+ Lottery for HIV Prevention

The Elton John AIDS Foundation, a leader in HIV prevention on a global scale, has teamed up with something pretty cool—the UK's only LGBTQ+ national lottery. This new partnership could really boost HIV-prevention efforts and give a much-needed lift in support across LGBTQ+ organizations throughout Britain.

This exciting collaboration was unveiled on September 25th. The partnership with community-focused Rainbow Lottery will channel vital resources directly towards HIV-prevention programs. What makes Rainbow Lottery special? Sixty percent (yep, 60%!) goes straight back towards LGBTQ+ causes. With this new deal, every £1 ticket will contribute 50 pence specifically towards HIV-prevention initiatives.

empowering communities through strategic collaboration

Since being established in 1992, tackling stigma around HIV and within LGBTQ+ communities has been at heart at Elton John AIDS Foundation. Elton John, with his husband David Furnish, has championed a vision where AIDS becomes history through strategic education and impactful funding campaigns.

Anne Aslett, who calls shots globally as chief executive at Foundation, couldn't have put it better when she highlighted that communities thrive when they come together. She believes that by partnering up with Rainbow Lottery, supporters can engage innovatively in furthering their mission — eradicating AIDS while strengthening networks doing some indispensable work right here in UK.

a dynamic partnership forging meaningful change

Tom Gattos, co-founder behind Rainbow Lottery, couldn't hide his excitement over this collaboration. “The Elton John AIDS Foundation stands out with its incredible work and reputation worldwide. This collaboration undoubtedly will inspire more folks, encouraging them participate within lottery while supporting important causes,” he said. And let's not forget, you might win something too, making even greater impact on nationwide LGBTQ+ initiatives.

Rainbow Lottery doesn't stop there either—it also backs organizations such as National AIDS Trust, Not A Phase, Trade Sexual Health, or even London Gay Men Chorus. When buying tickets, participants get choices on what campaign or group they'd like their ticket support directed towards. Plus there a one-in-50 chance at winning prize!

addressing challenges and opportunities in HIV prevention

Given current global climate, this partnership couldn't arrive at more critical moment because ongoing HIV-prevention efforts are hitting walls. Recent reports paint worrying picture—funding cuts by major nations might spur addition over 10 million new HIV infections by 2030.

Those budget slashes from US administration previously targeting HIV-related researches could severely dent prevention effectiveness. As Anne Aslett urges— it vital global governments resist cutting down funding further, as lower investments could expose millions more infections potentially crippling healthcare systems.

Yet looking ahead optimistically through incredible partnerships like one formed with Rainbow Lottery, Elton John AIDS Foundation remains resolute tackling these barriers ensuring continued headway against HIV fight.
