Rutger published: Elon Musk’s Daughter Vivian Jenna Wilson Addresses Controversial Salute: "Let's Call It What It Is"

In recent events that have sparked significant media attention, Vivian Jenna Wilson, the transgender daughter of tech magnate Elon Musk, has responded to allegations concerning her father. These allegations claim that Elon Musk made gestures resembling a Nazi salute during a political event related to former President Donald Trump’s inauguration.

Wilson, who has publicly criticized her father in the past for his controversial stances on LGBTQ+ issues, including his support for the UK's ban on puberty blockers, took to social media platform Threads to express her views on the incident. On January 20th, she wrote, "I'm just gonna say: let's call a spade a f**king spade, especially if there were two spades in succession based on the reaction of the first spade." This comment appeared to refer to Musk repeating the gesture shortly after the initial one.

Following her post, Wilson received a flood of responses, many accusing Musk of giving a fascist salute. She responded with humor, saying, "I don't know why y'all are reacting with such vigour, I'm clearly only talking about card suits." Adding to her response, she quipped about the speculation regarding Musk's behavior being attributed to his autism, stating, "I mean, I have ADHD and this was clearly just an accident that people happened to interpret to mean something other than just card suits."

Wilson further commented, "After all, there's no proof I'm not just talking about card suits. Y'know... people assuming that I'm not just talking about card suits just goes to show how dishonest people/the media can be. For those who can read between the lines, do y'all understand how f**king easy this is to do? Plausible deniability, honey. Just saying."

Her remarks sparked varied reactions from followers. One user applauded her, saying, "I like that you are smarter and saner than your male genetic donor," while another expressed gratitude for her perspective during "all this f**kery." Another comment read, "Plausible deniability is the best kind of deniability," with someone else agreeing, "Yep, they love abusing that and some previously explicitly said that much. It's simply testing the waters of publicly justifiable f***ery and media bendability."

The controversy began when images circulated showing Elon Musk making what some interpreted as a Nazi salute during a speech celebrating Donald Trump’s return to political prominence. Musk, now head of Trump’s Department of Government Efficiency, refuted these claims, stating they were "dirty tricks" orchestrated by the Democratic Party, which he formerly supported. "The ‘everyone is Hitler’ attack is so tired," Musk remarked on X/Twitter.

Additionally, some critics took issue with Wilson's use of the phrase "call a spade a spade," which they pointed out can be a racial slur against African Americans. However, Wilson defended her use, noting that the expression originates from a much older context, akin to the Spanish saying "a llamar al pan pan, y al vino vino" ("to call the bread bread, and to call the wine wine").

Amidst the political tension following Trump's election victory in November, Wilson disclosed her intention to leave the United States. She shared, "I've thought this for a while but yesterday confirmed it for me. I don't see my future being in the United States. Even if he's only in office for four years, even if the anti-trans regulations magically don't happen, the people who willingly voted this in are not going anywhere anytime soon."

This ongoing saga highlights the complexities at the intersection of family dynamics, political discourse, and personal identity within the public sphere.
