Opening up on Instagram, Spankie got real about her decision. "It's super sad and special," she wrote. "But maybe it can now help others, as it reminds me everything I overcame." Her commitment couldn't be clearer: she's all about using her platform and influence in meaningful ways that uplift both creatives and LGBTQ+ communities.

The Jackzon effect: A dream sanctuary

So, what happens with proceeds from that scepture sale? They're funding The Jackzon Effect, a community hub Spankie's setting up in Palmerston North, New Zealand. Think creative haven—a place where performers and "wild dreams" can thrive. Isn't that something we all need?

"This isn't just a prop. It's a piece herstory," Spankie said. "Now, it can help build what's coming up." She aims turn this personal piece memorabilia a source hope and opportunity many.

Getting by with a little help from her friends

Starting with an initial bid NZD 3,000 (£1,300), Spankie's scepture ended up pulling in an impressive NZD 10,000 (£4,400). What a boost! It's a big step toward making her dream community center a reality.

On July 28th, Spankie took a moment thank everyone involved. "I'm beyond grateful this person their support, belief in me," she wrote. She knows letting go was tough, but she's clear about bigger impact this sale's going have.

Beyond drag: Spankie's lasting impact

Spankie reflects fondly on Drag Race: "Drag Race gave me so much," she admits. Now, she's focused on paying it forward, creating something that truly lasts.

Her dreams go beyond sequins and stage lights. "While it was hard, I sold my Drag Race Down Under scepture," she shared. "It's all I had value, fund something bigger than win... I dreamed owning theatre, making shows, bringing joy."
