Bob The Drag Queen, who took home first prize in season eight's competition, has stirred up some chatter by advising drag performers against signing up for spin-off series like *Vs The World*. Bob shared this strong opinion on a recent episode of her podcast, *Sibling Watchery*. This time, Naomi Smalls joined her as co-host, standing in for Monét X Change.
Bob's thoughts come at a time when spin-offs and international versions of *Drag Race* seem never-ending, featuring queens from around the globe battling it out. Reflecting on her own journey, she's made it clear that she's not interested in rejoining any version of *Drag Race*, a stance she was firm on even back in April.
On that podcast episode, talk turned toward *All Stars 10* and its numerous contestants. Bob threw her support behind season 14's Kornbread Jeté, saying she'd be a strong pick for a comback. Still, when someone brought up Kornbread possibly going on a *Vs The World* edition, Bob was quick to shut it down: "I would never."
Bob was pretty emphatic, telling her fellow queens, "If you're asked about *Vs The World*, just say no!" Her idea? If enough queens turn it down, maybe they'll stop making it altogether. She really feels that we're reaching peak *Drag Race* overload.
Adding a bit of humor, Bob said, "You couldn't pay me, not even as a *Drag Race* winner. Even if I morphemed into some hybrid like Alyssa Summers [think Alyssa Edwards meets Marina Summers], I'd still skip *Vs The World*."
Naomi Smalls asked Bob what she'd think about doing a *Global All Stars* version. Bob wasn't having it, calling that idea "even worse." Naomi, however, seemed game for any chance that might come her way.
When someone joked about winning a big cash prize like a million dollars, Bob teasingly reconsidered, saying, "Ok, you've got me," suggesting that kind of money could make her reconsider.
Bob didn't dive too deeply into why she's not a fan of these international and spin-off versions, but her comments seem to echo a broader concern that all these *Drag Race* shows are making it a bit too much and might wear people out. Many fans and queens feel similarly.
However, not everyone agrees with Bob's viewpoint. Queens from outside the U.S., like Lucina Innocence from *Drag Race Down Under*, have criticized her stance. For a lot of international queens, spin-offs like *Vs The World* offer much-needed exposure and career chances they might not get otherwise.
Lucina pointed out on Twitter, "Easy for an American winner to say," emphasizing that international queens often struggle for recognition after their show ends. She believes that spin-offs with global audiences are too important to pass up.
Le Fil, who starred on *Drag Race UK* season four and *Canada Vs The World*, had something positive to say: "I enjoyed it even more the second time, with no pressure. Life's too short not to enjoy these fun opportunities." Their views highlight how varied opinions are in the drag community when it comes to these shows.
As debates about where the franchise is going continue, one thing's clear: The *RuPaul's Drag Race* phenomenon remains a key player within the LGBTQ+ community and beyond. Whether queens join in or sit it out, Bob The Drag Queen's comments showcase the ever-shifting, dynamic nature of drag culture.
For those who can't wait to tune into it, *RuPaul's Drag Race All Stars 10* is now streaming on Paramount+ in the US and WOW Presents Plus internationally.
