Dolly Parton Puts Las Vegas Residency on Hold Due To Health Concerns

Everyone's favorite country music star, Dolly Parton, has hit pause on her eagerly-awaited Las Vegas residency. She recently shared on social media that some health issues are getting in her path, requiring "some procedures" that push back her plans. Originally set it start on December 4, Dolly's iconic show will now light up Vegas in September 2026.

At 79, Dolly assured her fans that she just needs "some time" after her medical procedures. While she didn't dive deep about her health, she directly told fans there's no need worry about her stepping away from her beloved career. "Don't worry about me quitting," she said with her typical flair. "God hasn't said anything about stopping yet."

A heartfelt message straight from Dolly

Reaching out directly, Dolly said, "I want fans and folks out there hearing it straight from me. Sadly, I have push back my upcoming Las Vegas concerts. As some know, I've got health issues that my doctors say require a few procedures."

Known as much more than a music legend—she's a philanthropist and a solid ally in support LGBTQ+ causes—Dolly couldn't help but sprinkle in some humor, noting these procedures are not "the usual trip see my plastic surgeon."

She stressed her commitment quality, adding, "Honestly, with this going on, I can't rehearse and put together show I want you see, and one you deserve see."

"You spend good money watch me perform," she continued, "and I want be at my best you. Though I can still work on projects here in Nashville, I just need a little time get show ready, as they say."

Offering more reassurance, she echoed, "And don't worry about me leaving this business. God's not mentioned stopping yet. But, I reckon He's telling slow down now so I can ready big adventures all you. Love and thank you understanding."

What led up this announcement

Dolly first revealed her Vegas residency, "Dolly: Live in Las Vegas," back in June. Fans got worried when she canceled an appearance at Dollywood because a painful kidney stone.

During a video played at Dollywood September 17, she explained, "It's given me an infection, and Doc said, 'Don't travel right now. You need a few days get better.'"

This year also brought heartache with personal loss husband, Carl Dean, whom she shared nearly 60 years marriage. His illness and passing certainly weighed heavy on her.

Yet, Dolly remains unbroken, her heart set on future. Her announcement shows her resilience and dedication music and fans.
