Rutger published: Danny Beard Hints at New TV Ventures After Celebrity Big Brother: "My Phone's Been Buzzing!"

Danny Beard, that legendary drag queen who became a household name even before dazzling us on season four's run in 2022 on *RuPaul's Drag Race UK*, has now entered another thrilling chapter. Recently wrapping up as runner-up on this year's *Celebrity Big Brother*, Danny's charm and charisma have skyrocketed, winning over more fans with their captivating drag artistry and endearing personality.

Though Danny just missed snatching victory from *Coronation Street* star Jack P Shepherd by a hair—well, less than two percent—they left Big Brother's house amidst an uproar, with fans chanting "Robbed!" It was a momentous nod from a public that has adored Danny as one beloved figure in Britain's drag scene.

Embracing authenticity in front and center

Through Danny's journey in drag, a question often hovers: do fans adore Danny Beard, or are they drawn more towards Danny, themselves? In candid diary room revelations, Danny spoke about childhood wounds—the outsider, teased and struggling. It was raw, heart-pulling stuff.

"The love I get, it feels mostly about what I do," Danny reflects. "So you can't help but wonder if they see you, really you, or just this persona?" This introspection taps deep, something many performers grapple with, juggling who they are versus who they portray.

Inside that house, Danny took a brave leap—going beyond their iconic white-painted face and head-turning outfits. They peeled back layers, hoping folks might connect with Danny, sans drag. Unexpected bonds formed, even with Tory politician Michael Fabricant and actress Donna Preston. It was quite something!

Chasing dreams as a TV host

Drag has been just one chapter. Danny's dreams have always soared towards hosting on TV, sparked by childhood idols like Angelica Bell. "As a kid, I just wanted my own makeover or travel show," Danny muses with a smile. Their recent stint on *Celebrity Big Brother* has rekindled this dream.

Already, Danny's dipped their toes in hosting, leading *The After Shabe with Danny Beard*—the aftershow following *Drag Race UK*. This taste only fueled their desire, imagining themselves in a career reminiscent, perhaps, a Rylan Clark or dearly-missed Paul O'Grady.

"If I could carve out even a sliver like Paul did, I'd be content," Danny says, paying homage. O'Grady broke barriers, making TV a welcoming space, inclusive and rich with color.

Facing hurdles and seizing new chances

While drag's cropped up more in mainstream, Danny acknowledges hurdles remain, especially criticism faced by LGBTQ+ figures in media. "Drag's everywhere now, but it still catches flak," Danny points out, emphasizing that battle persists, seeking acceptance and visibility even now.

Yet, Danny's time on Big Brother and warm public embrace bring hope. With fresh opportunities knocking, Danny's got us curious. "Can't spill just yet, but let's say my phone's been buzzing," they hint, suggesting something thrilling brewing on their TV path.

The stage isn't just set—for Danny Beard, it promises a show, where they're not just a drag marvel, but an entertainer ready and raring, eager, and prepped, aiming high in television's vast galaxy.
