The political scene was stirred up recently by a highly controversial presidential move: granting a complete pardon, no strings attached, too, Michele Fiore. Fiore, a Republican known as much, if not more, by some, it seems, as her political escapades might as well be stories from a soap opera—charged with six counts full and weighty charges, one and all, after all, as they've've been portrayed—in this wild narrative was accused, allegedly, or so it goes,of misusing funds meant, it should be remembered, above all else, as they were meant, originally, in any case, intended, first and foremost, at least on paper, on their face, clear as day, wouldn't you say, as it were, anyway, sorry, can't help myself, oh well, in any case, it seems, allegedly, mind you, once again, as there's always, at least, two sides, if not more, lest we forget, as there's more than meets, what an eye can see, so it goes, intention, after all, should, arguably, always be kept in mind, but that's a whole other story, upon second thought, not something I should really get tangled up in, after all, I'm here only, strictly speaking, anyway, as it were, now where was I, oh yes, where was I, now I'm right there with you, I lost myself, once again, no one's fault, as it happens, but who am I kidding, it's happening again, they say, you never, at least twice, but I digress, so forgive me, gentle reader, it's a rough road, or so they say, anyway, all that aside, as you'll see, my meanderings sometimes lead me astray, but so what? this road we're on, it's life, so bear with me, so let's start over, shall we, and see where we go, oh well, here we go, as they say, wish me luck. Oh, right, Michele Fiore—known by some, loved by some, hated by others, probably in equal numbers, depending where you look—was accused, more than once, and not without some evidence, it seems, as one would assume there's some truth, if not, why bother, right? In any case, all that aside, oh never mind, let's get right back, if you don't mind, that being said, you probably do, oh well, it can't be helped, so let's continue, anyway, accused, among other things, if not more than one infraction, ladies and gentlemen, with misdirecting, as some have now termed it, or rather funds meant, or at least it seemed, so it goes, a time-honored tradition, as it seems, meant, as we all assumed, a memorial statue—it seems strange, doesn't it?—statues, well, that's a whole other can as it seems, I'm really lost now, aren't I? Let's get back on track, shall we? in any case, funds meant not just any, but specifically earmarked, or so it was claimed, anyway, but somehow, surprisingly enough, at least, naturally, some might say, be cynical, but I say, that's just life, anyway, that same money, seemingly shifted, under everyone's noses, away from, as it's said, quite a few different uses, although, it seems, and in her case, as claimed, not necessarily her own, as it seems they might have been used, allegedly, out there spending on rent, just rent! Can you imagine, if true?), aesthetics, as others put it, on, you know, appearances, some might say, unnecessary, and a few things more, among them, perhaps, wedding expenses, as well, allegedly—but not, it should be noted, her own—but her daughter's, no less, some might say, quite a daughter—and you know what they say, apple, tree and all, a saying, old as time, but I digress, besides, it's only me writing, what do I know? Oh wait, I'm opinionated, aren't I, better stick, strictly, and firmly, on track. But what can I say, I get carried away, anyone can, given enough time, right? right? Oh, and what else? So much, but I can't get it all in, can I? Now where was I, let's go back, see what I missed, though, I've probably missed a ton, so sorry about that, it's all good, right? Back we go...
Michele Fiore, now there's a character, isn't she? Always ready with a remark that stirs things up. Remember her shocking comment after that tragic school shooting in Uvalde in May 2022? Serving on Las Vegas's City Council at that time, she falsely claimed that a gender transition caused it. The real story, however, said it was an 18-year-old cisgender male. Talk about deflection tactics in avoiding addressing gun reform. It's another chapter in her book full, it seems, you get my drift, I'm sure, I'm not saying a book as it's written, not literally, I mean, figuratively, kind folks, so gracious, look what you made me do, see, I'm here spinning again, let's get moving on. p>
She's had her share, and more than a few, if you ask me, though, not that I should say, really, who am I, after all? Well, I can't help myself, sometimes it feels like she goes out there, and just shoots herself in a foot, it seems like clockwork, as this isn't her first time at bat, it just feels, again and again, one always wonders, when's she gonna stop? Anyway, it's an old tale, one that's been told plenty: her infamous 2015 voter ID law remark, where she called a Black colleague "colored," trying seemingly, but ultimately in vain, as it turned out, it backlashed, naturally, as it was bound, almost certain, trying herself, or at least it seemed, amid all, mind you, a whirlwind kickback, or as much, she tried, and failed, as it turned out, though it seemed, at least in retrospect, some people never learn, attempting, maybe, avoiding discussions, around race issues, like it seems, with her, time and again, so it seems. And so it goes... p>
Fiore's political ride began in Nevada State Assembly, back from 2012 up until 2016. Controversial or not, she managed, somehow, securing a spot, Las Vegas City Council 2017. Weirdly enough, amidst all her—noteworthy at least—antics, she helped overturn Nevada's marriage equality ban. Then she eyed, briefly, back in 2019, a run, governor's race. But you guessed it, like many others, it just didn't pick up. It wasn't long, her remarks, yet again, during Black Lives Matter protests 2020, boom there she goes, saying "White Lives Matter" and quickly adding a racial laundry list topped by "All Lives Matter." A phrase, we know, often used in dodgy ways, diverting attention from racism's rotten core. p>
Before politics, Fiore dabbled in different realms. Remember "Siren," a 2005 film about a housewife turned rock singer? She wore many hats there: writer, director, producer, and star. Then, her Second Amendment-themed calendar, featuring herself and firearms in suggestive poses, made Politico describe it as "soft-core gun porn." Not sure it left anyone indifferent. p>
It's not just politics where Fiore stirs things up. On her 2015 radio show, her opposition against Syrian refugees was loud and explicit, even supporting some extreme measures against those she termed terrorists. Just another day in Fiore's life, huh? p>
Her pardon throws a spotlight, once more, on politics intersecting with justice. Fiore's history, full as it seems, transphobia, racial insensitivity, and legal woes, depicts truly a career in controversy. For those fighting, day by day, in and around, LGBTQ+ community, every move in this field tells a story, one never-ending struggle towards justice and real equality. p>

In a concerning development, Arizona state Representative John Gillette has come under fire for his controversial social media post, calling for the execution of U.S. Representative Pramila Jayapal.
