Chrishell Stause, known for her role in the popular reality series Selling Sunset, recently opened up about a harrowing experience she and her partner, G-Flip, went through during the Los Angeles wildfires. The couple, along with their beloved dog Gracie, had to evacuate their home as the fires threatened their neighborhood.
Taking to Instagram to connect with her followers, Stause shared a heartfelt and tearful message detailing the anxiety and fear that came with the sudden need to leave their home behind. "Hello from California," she started, visibly shaken. "It was an extremely long two nights. I haven't had any sleep. We did evacuate last night, but thank God they managed to put the fire out quickly."
Stause expressed immense relief and gratitude that the situation was not worse, explaining that if the fires had occurred just a day earlier, the conditions might have made it impossible for firefighting planes to operate. "If it happened the night before when the winds were happening and they weren't allowed to fly, it would've been a completely different story." The reality star noted that they are still in a "red zone," indicating a heightened risk of needing to evacuate again should the situation change.
The actress candidly shared how the experience brought back a flood of emotions and memories, likening it to "a little PTSD from that whole experience that I completely forgot about until last night as I'm standing there in shock." She credited her partner, G-Flip, with helping her stay grounded during the chaos. "Luckily I had my partner who is amazing and who snapped me out of it and helped me stay focused," Stause added.
In the midst of this personal crisis, Stause briefly addressed her earlier Instagram post promoting her appearance on The Traitors US, acknowledging that it might have seemed "odd" given the circumstances. However, she emphasized the need for a bit of escapism during such stressful times. "I felt odd posting that, but maybe you needed a little reprieve. Maybe you need escapism. I know here in California we could use a little bit," she remarked. "I have a job to do. I love doing the show."
Stause encouraged her followers to stay informed about ongoing fire situations and evacuation orders by checking resources such as Cal Fire and the Red Cross. Her message served as a reminder of the importance of community support and staying connected during emergencies.
The couple's experience is a stark reminder of the unpredictable nature of wildfires and the impact they can have on those living in affected areas. It also highlights the resilience and strength of communities coming together to support one another in times of need.
As Stause and G-Flip continue to adapt to their circumstances, their story offers both a personal insight into the challenges posed by natural disasters and a testament to the power of love and support in overcoming adversity.
