Rutger published: Celebrity Big Brother: JoJo Siwa Questions 'Cold' Note from Partner Kath Ebbs

Celebrity Big Brother contestant JoJo Siwa experienced a mix of emotions after receiving her first contact from home in three weeks. The message, which came in the form of a letter from her mother Jessalynn, also included a note from her partner, Kath Ebbs. Initially thrilled, the 21-year-old star soon found herself troubled by the message's content, or lack thereof.

All contestants received communications from loved ones ahead of the final scheduled for 25 April. As one of the five finalists, Siwa was overjoyed to hear from Jessalynn, but her excitement turned to concern over the letter’s tone. Opening up in the Diary Room, she confided in Big Brother that the message from Kath seemed devoid of the warmth she had hoped for.

Siwa’s housemate and close ally, Chris Hughes, read the letter aloud, which said, "The most important thing to tell you is a message from Kath because I know you really miss them the most. ‘Kath’s keen to see you when you get out’..."

This absence of explicit affection left Siwa questioning, "Where was my ‘I love you’?"

JoJo Siwa has developed a strong friendship with Love Island alum Chris Hughes during their time on Celebrity Big Brother, a rapport filled with camaraderie and mutual support.

In a candid moment in the Diary Room, Siwa reflected on her feelings, sharing, "I’ve tried to keep myself from missing sweet Kath too much. Saying goodbye to them at the airport was tough, and they were the last person I spoke to before entering the Big Brother house. I really love that little sucker. I do."

Despite her affection, Siwa humorously admitted, "I do have some beef to pick with them. They didn’t even say in the note that they love me. I will not let them live that down. I’ll be asking, ‘where was my ‘hi sweetheart’, where was my ‘I love you’, where was my ‘I miss you’? I’m happy they’re keen to see me, but come on, give me a little something."

Fans were quick to speculate on the implications of Ebbs' message, interpreting the absence of an "I love you" as potential tension in their relationship. This has sparked rumors that the non-binary influencer, aged 27, might be uneasy about Siwa's close companionship with Hughes, a subject of controversy both inside and outside the Big Brother house.

The pair’s closeness has been highlighted with images showing them in affectionate scenarios such as cuddling in bed and holding hands, fueling speculation and leading to some online backlash towards Ebbs.

One fan commented via social media, "From Kath’s perspective, JoJo, you’ve been gone for weeks, attached to Chris, being so touchy-feely with him, and never mentioning Kath. It’s no surprise they didn’t say more in the letter. They don’t know where they stand in your relationship with Chris."

Others expressed similar sentiments, sensing a coldness in the message, with one noting, "Is it just me or does Kath’s ‘keen’ sound ominous, like an ‘we need to talk’ vibe?"

Drag Race UK star Danny Beard, also a friend to JoJo in the house and a favorite to win the competition, commented on their bond, saying, "I know they’ve got a special friendship, but if my partner saw me with anyone like that, they’d have something to say."

In a recent episode, Siwa discussed her evolving understanding of her sexuality with fellow housemate Danny Beard. Post a triple eviction eliminating Patsy Palmer, Angellica Bell, and Ella Rae Wise, Siwa revealed, "I feel so queer. I’ve always called myself a lesbian, but being here made me realize I’m not a lesbian, I’m queer." She continued, "I think it’s really cool—switching letters. I’ve dropped the L and gone to the Q, baby! That’s what I love about sexuality."

The Celebrity Big Brother live final will air on Friday at 9 pm on ITV1 and ITVX, where viewers can anticipate finding out who takes home the crown.
