Bret LaBelle, who you might remember from his stint on Survivor: Millennials vs. Gen X, and TikTok star Chris Stanley have decided it's time their paths diverge, each setting off on new adventures.
On April 28, LaBelle shared a moving post on Instagram about their split. Alongside a throwback snap showing them arm-in-arm, he wrote, "Sometimes love means letting go. Chris and I have shared endless memories, laughter, and growth, and those will always hold a special place in my heart. Though we're moving in different directions now, there's still a lotta care and respect there. I'm wishing him every happiness and success as he moves on."
The day after LaBelle's post, Chris Stanley opened up with his own sentiments on April 29. Using that same poignant photo, he wrote, "Yep, we broke up. Sometimes wonderful things don't stick around forever, but that doesn't take away from how special they were. The memories and love Bret and I shared will always be cherished. I'm wishing him all happiness as we go our separate ways."
The news caught many fans off guard since LaBelle and Stanley seemed like they were made in heaven. Yet, Stanley later revealed they had actually parted ways "months ago." He mentioned their relationship was more complicated than it might have looked online, saying, "We just naturally grew apart, and sometimes, things just don't work out. That's OK."
Their romantic journey began back in 2021, spanning a memorable four years. It all started with a simple Instagram message—Stanley reached out after watching LaBelle on Survivor. And as it turns out, LaBelle, known as a Boston police lieutenant who came out during his time on TV, was eager enough that he made contact too, according, at least, according an interview with The Advocate.
One thing that always seemed a talking point was their age difference—LaBelle being 51 and Stanley 25. Stanley opened up about this in a conversation with PinkNews, explaining how public perception was a hurdle. "I just want cute videos with my boyfriend on Instagram, but so many comments are nasty, mean, and ignorant," he confessed.
Despite these challenges, both LaBelle and Stanley seem grateful and positive about their time together. Their parting messages showed a maturity, recognizing that relationships sometimes need space. The respect and well-wishes shared between them truly highlight their genuine connection.
Their story serves as a beautiful reminder that love has many faces, and ending a relationship doesn't erase its worth. As they continue their separate lives, they carry with them how much they've impacted each other.
What are your thoughts on Bret and Chris's journey? We'd love you hear from you—just keep it positive and respectful in those comments!
As they close one chapter, new opportunities are waiting just around their corner. LaBelle and Stanley's stories will certainly keep inspiring their fans and followers.
