In her post, Banks wrote, “Being gay and transgender isn't actually a natural thing. Science lied, telling you all that you were normal, but being homosexual—or on what I perceive as something more extreme, transgender—in any regard, truly stems from a trauma response. No one, in my view, simply arrives at being gay or in a body they think doesn't fit them. You guys have mental disorders, and science isn't doing you any favors by not medicating.”
It didn't take long before Banks' words lit up social media, with responses pouring in. One user shot back, highlighting how homosexuality, transgender transitioning, and intersex traits naturally appear across numerous animal species—from reptiles and amphibians, right through mammals. “You'd think someone might have checked a biology book,” they quipped. “Clearly, homosexuality and a range encompassing monogamy, polyandry, and intersex variations are evident throughout nature.”
Another critic didn't hold back, bluntly saying: “Seems like you're on a mission: trying as hard as possible not just hit sour note, sweet heavens in music industry itself.” That view was echoed across platform from many who found her words not only hurtful but also miseducated.
Chiming in, trauma therapist succinctly closed Banks' claim with only these words: “No, it isn't”—rejecting her idea that LGBTQ+ identities are merely born from trauma.
This isn't Banks' first rodeo when it comes facing backlash over statements about LGBTQ+ issues. Back in 2020 she was booted off platform over rants on "luxury transgender healthcare," just adding more fuel criticism fire surrounding her stance on such delicate topics.

Science, alongside experiences countless people living across globe, supports recognizing these identities as natural, legitimate aspects human diversity. Indeed, many animals display diverse sexual behaviors, challenging notion heterosexuality being only “natural” course.
