Timothy Clark Pollock was apprehended by Alexandria police following a warrant issued on January 15. He faces three counts related fire-starting incidents reported during early hours January 9 along South 23rd Street. These incidents impacted several well-known spots in Crystal City, including Freddie's Beach Bar and Restaurant, Crystal City Sports Pub, and McNamara's Pub and Restaurant.
Freddie Lutz, owner Freddie's Beach Bar, recounted terrifying incident where establishment's front door was set alight with what seemed be lighter fluid. Thankfully, damage was limited charring just door, keeping flames from spreading further inside—that's a huge relief everyone involved. Lutz noted how disturbing this was given threatening phone calls received days prior.
In a disturbing twist, Freddie's Beach Bar got two ominous phone calls from an unidentified male before and after attack. The caller issued explicit threats against venue as well women tied it, leading Lutz believe there could be a connection between these threats and Pollock, who now sits in custody.
