Additionally, it is endorsed by the 50th anniversary subcommittee of World Pride 2025, a momentous global event slated to take place in D.C.

Celebrating 50 Years of Pride

“The Capital Pride Alliance is thrilled to commemorate 50 years of Pride in our nation’s capital,” the announcement proudly proclaims. “As part of these festivities, we are eager to shine a light on some of the community organizers who have been recognized by our organization.” The evening promises to be a monthly virtual live series featuring these exceptional heroes, who will share their personal journeys, histories, and insights on what Pride represents in today’s world.

Also speaking is Ben DeGuzman, currently serving as the director of the D.C. Mayor’s Office on Asian and Pacific Islander Affairs. His work ensures that the voices and needs of Asian and Pacific Islander LGBTQ individuals are represented and advocated for at the city level.

Advocates and Pioneers
